Reposted from Hutchinson Public Schools:
“At mid-morning Wednesday, Hutchinson Police responded to what was believed to be a domestic incident with possible gunfire in the 700 block of East 10th. While our schools are not adjacent to the incident, the safety of our students and staff are of the utmost importance.
Out of an abundance of caution, Hutchinson High School the Educational Services Center, Faris Elementary School and McCandless Elementary School, were told to shelter in place.
All of our students and staff are safe. The incident did prompt a delay in lunch schedules for those schools.
At this point, we are working together with Hutchinson Police to form a plan for release students if the situation continues until the final bell. Please monitor social media for updates.”
FHS students who attend HCTEA were involved in this lockdown and were late returning to our campus. At this time, all FHS vo-tech students are safely back at the Fairfield campus.
