During the academy's five-day summer program, you will participate in a variety of high-impact learning activities to help you understand better what teachers do and determine whether or not you want to pursue this regarding career.

Target age: SophomoresHOBY Kansas hosts a four day leadership seminar for high school students finishing their sophomore year. We seek to motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference within society with special emphasis on service to others.

If you are interested, come see Mrs. Glascock as soon as possible.

DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 17

The Better Business Bureau serving The Kansas Plains (all counties in Kansas except Franklin, Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami and Wyandotte) annually sponsors a video contest open to all students in grades 9-12. Cash prizes for students and their schools for 1st and 2nd place winners!

Students may enter individually or in teams of two to four participants. 1st place - $500 (split between team members) and to the school and 2nd place - $250 (split between team members) and to the school.

Video submission deadline is Friday, February 2, 2018, with winners notified by March 1, 2018.

If you are a parent of a sophomore or junior and you have electricity, your student may be eligible to apply for a FREE trip to Washington, DC, from your rural electric cooperative.

This is the Youth Tour and students who apply are also eligible for some very nice scholarships.
