The Kansas Board of Regents just passed into law a new scholarship act called the Kansas Promise Act. This is very important for those of you planning to attend a public community college or a technical school. There are a few requirements attached to it, the first of which is choosing an eligible program of study (information technology & security, mental & physical healthcare, advanced manufacturing & building trades, and early childhood education & development.) You must also then sign an agreement to live and work in Kansas for two years following your college graduation. This scholarship will cover the cost of tuition, books, fees, and required materials, after you've applied any other scholarships or financial aid. This is available to graduates of the CLASS of 2021 and will be available for the graduating seniors for the next several years.
So, if you are going to attend a community college or technical school, you should really look at this, because you could go to school for FREE, if you are willing to stay in Kansas for 2 years following college graduation. See this link for more details: https://www.kansasregents.org/.../promise-act-scholarship
