This is the image for the news article titled Remember to Vote Tuesday, August 2!Tuesday, August 2, is an important date. Tuesday is the date for the primary elections and in case you haven’t noticed from the many flyers in your mailbox or the yard signs, there are a number of hotly contested races that will determine who is or isn’t on the ballot in November.

The outcome of the primaries will no doubt influence the future of schools and the direction of our state. Regardless of which candidates you decide to support, you owe it to yourself, our students, and your fellow citizens to make your voice heard and cast your ballot.

Reminder: if you have changed addresses since registering you will have to show proof of address.

If you can’t make it to the polls on Tuesday, anyone registered voter can vote between now and noon on Monday by showing up at the advance polling location for your county. Independent voters may vote in the primaries by declaring a party affiliation at their polling place. Don’t let others decide the election for you. Parents that vote have children who grow up and vote. Please be that positive role model and cast your ballot in the primaries and general election.
