This is the image for the news article titled McKinney Receives AwardWe've all known that Principal Betsy McKinney is pretty special, but now we have the confirmation from the Kansas Association of Elementary School Principals (KAESP).  

Mrs. McKinney is the District 4 National Distinguished Principal of the Year of Kansas!

She is one of six finalists for the Kansas Principal of the Year Award given by the KAESP. The overall State winner will be named later. She received her award November 9, 2015 at the annual convention.
Group of awardees

The National Distinguished Principals program honors outstanding elementary and middle-level administrators who ensure that America's children acquire a sound foundation for lifelong learning and achievement. The program was established in 1984 to recognize and celebrate elementary and middle-level principals who set high standards for instruction, student achievement, character, and climate for the students, families, and staffs in their learning communities.
